Synth Library Portland builds community.

If you’ve come to one of our drop-in sessions, booked Studio Hours with one of our volunteers, attended Modular on the Spot, or expanded your skills in one of our workshops, then you’ve experienced that community first hand. We believe it is more important than ever for Synth Library Portland to exist. We all need a community like the one we’re fostering: one centered around creativity, art, and collaboration.

Groove to the beat

Being an arts non-profit is fun, exciting, and always a little challenging. We are able to overcome whatever challenges may arise through the support of our community. We’re asking you to help keep Synth Library Portland going strong by helping us meet our end-of-year fundraising goals. You can do this by attending our next benefit concert: Modbang at The Six on December 20th. We had a great time at our previous end-of-year concert on Black Friday at Lloyd Center, and we’ve planned one more show this year. In addition to featuring live performances, we’ll be raffling off tons of great prizes at this final benefit concert.

With your help, in 2025, we’ve completed 1,250 unique gear loans through our popular lending program and hosted 53 educational workshops (an average of more than one per week), along with additional meetups and community events, reaching over 2,700 attendees. In August we held our biggest event to date. Video Sync brought together artists from around the world for three days of installations, artist talks, and performances. We’ve also taken our work out into the community with Modular on the Spot performances in local parks, and synth petting zoo events at local public libraries.  

2026 promises to be another exciting year for Synth Library Portland. It will mark ten years since the Synth Library was founded. We’ll begin a new chapter in our journey by moving out of Lloyd Center to a new home. There are challenges that go with this, but we’re excited about the opportunity to continue our work in a larger space where we can grow our membership and program offerings. We need your support to make this transition as smooth as possible. Our next home will enable us to do and create even more in the coming years.
